New car – Suzuki Swift Sport

New Suzuki swiftRecently Mat and I decided we would jump in head first and actually admit we’re a couple by doing something couples do – putting funds together. To reward ourselves we would invest in a new car, something we had been pining after since having so many recent problems with my own Suzuki Vitara and his Patrol. We needed something to run around town, to look nice, and take us the distance when needed as well. It had to be comfortable, it had to be the kind of car that wouldn’t need Mat to modify it in ANY way once we purchased it, and it had to be absolutely awesome.

The Suzuki Sport immediately jumped out at us.

Foo Fighters to tour Australia in 2008

My first proper “big” concert was seeing the Foo Fighters (my favourite band) in Brisbane in 2005. Finally, they’re coming back. I absolutely cannot wait.

This morning was the pre-sale, and I have the absolute pleasure in telling the whole world that I have two front row seats. That’s right, I’m sitting (what a lazy sod) and the lucky person who will be joining me is none other than my boyfriend Mat. But hang on, you would think he would be happy right? So far he has insisted he’s not coming, that he has no desire to go to a concert, and when I rang to announce the front row tickets I got a “is that all you rang me for??”

Doesn’t matter – nothing can ruin the mood I’m in. FRONT ROW!!! Why can’t it be April 29th already?

Missy Higgins in Concert

DSCF0175Last night I saw Missy Higgins perform at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. It was an “intimate theatre experience” as noted by her website, and most definately was one of the best concerts I have been to.

Now I hate to say that it wasn’t all about her music. As you may or may not know, Missy recently “sort of” came out about whether or not she is a lesbian. That really doesn’t bother me, as long as she’s happy then that all that matters. What bothers me is when people make such a big deal out of it. It proved to be a recurring theme of the night, most unfairly to Missy since that wasn’t the point of the evening.

It’s a wonderful internet

When I was little, I loved the books with the pull tabs that would make the image flip and change into something else. Now, a website has incorporated that trick into it’s own online pull tab novel, reminding us what life would be like without the internet (probably biased in a way, they didn’t take into account camping, and we bought all that stuff from a store around the corner from us – can walk there – or by taking my mothers tent haha).

Anyway, a great 5 minute watch/read, so check it out

I feel sorry for Britney Spears

I really really feel sorry for that woman. Yeah she’s made all her screw ups, I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about the fact that she can’t drive down the street without getting swarmed by paparazzi. It’s no bloody wonder she’s run over someone’s foot. She has somewhere to be, and if you’re standing in the way and not moving, she’s going to inch forward slowly and hope you move out of her way. SO BLOODY MOVE! It’s your fault if you leave your foot in the way of a moving vehicle, on a road, you fool.

I think surely celebrities should have some right of way when it comes to situations like that. I can’t even begin to comprehend what they have to deal with every day of their lives. Imagine having to push your way through to go to a coffee shop, or clothes shop, or anywhere. Bugger that!

If it was me I would have given him a good shunt, and then yelled “take a note of that all of you, now get out of my f**king way!!” Maybe she should hire bodyguards that strap onto the edges of the car, and physically move people out of the way so she can move! Or breathe even!

I really hope someone finally shows some common sense and instigates some laws that paparazzi have to be x metres away, and give them room to drive a bloody car!
