31/365 - Lamingtons and tea

Last day of the month; it’s hard to believe I’ve actually achieved a different photo every day so far. I’m quite proud of myself actually. One month down, 11 left to go.

Today has alternated between overcast and outright raining. As a result, it’s been a mostly indoors day, including the dogs. The only time I ventured out was for the grocery shopping (and what a thrill that was).

This afternoon, Mat and I spent the time by drinking tea and having a lamington each – yum! We’re also watching Valkyrie, which I’ve lost the storyline…I’ve been distracted uploading this picture instead!

30/365 - Shadow puppets

Once again, I found I was lacking inspiration and running out of time (and trying not to take countless puppy photos). Our original dog, Turbo, had FINALLY accepted Missy (our 6 week old pup) and they were happily playing in the backyard. By playing…he was darting side to side, and she was running around trying to get past him. He won the game.

While they played, I grabbed the torch and started making shadow puppets on the outside wall of the house. Mat sat there laughing at me, but when encouraged he ended up having fun too! This is one of his creations…don’t ask me what it is.

We’re immature sometimes, but at least we have fun.

29 - Bulldozing the dead trees

Mat’s dad is doing some clearing on the property. This was a dead tree struck by lightning during a storm.

28 - Remote road sign

We were out at Mat’s dad’s property in the middle of woop woop. Caught this photo just before we turned onto the dirt road to the property.

The classic “road train” combined with the remote road sign in a vintage effect.

27 - Missy in her water bowl

Our first meeting of our new puppy, Missy. She’s that small (and it was that hot – 40 degrees plus) that she simply laid down in her water bowl to cool off.

She’s SO gorgeous, so just a warning…there may be more photos of her in the future.
