Breast cancer is incredibly important to me. My mother is a survivor, and I have had my own scare. I’m actually meant to get scans every year just so they can continue to monitor me, that’s how serious it was/is. According to Breast Cancer Australia, 1 in 11 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer before they reach 75 years of age. It’s fair to say that most of us have been touched by this horrible issue, and if not, we will be eventually. It’s still far too common.
This year, when signing up for the Sydney City 2 Surf, entrants were invited to create their own fundraising page so they could raise money towards their nominated cause. I chose to raise money for Breast Cancer Australia, because as mentioned previously, it’s a disease that I know of personally. So if I’m given the opportunity to try and raise some funds towards a very worthy cause, then by heck I’m going to do it.
Thus, I’m reaching out to you, my readers. I would be honoured if you would consider sponsoring me in the City 2 Surf. There’s no limit on how much you can donate, and every little bit helps. I’m not expecting much, anything is a bonus. To donate, simply visit my Everyday Hero page. You can donate online, and from past experience when donating funds to friends, it’s an incredibly easy process. You just need a Mastercard or a Visa. Alternatively, if you know me personally and offline, feel free to hand over some $$ and I will make the donation online on your behalf.

On the left of my blog you will find a meter that tracks my progress towards meeting my goal. I can also promise you that I will push harder in the City 2 Surf and try and complete it as fast as I can so that I can feel that I have earned your donation. You wouldn’t want me to get out of this scot free would you?! Besides, any pain I feel in completing a 14km run is nothing compared to what people with breast cancer experience.
Once again, please consider donating. I would truly appreciate it. Thank you.
