It’s an interesting name for my latest challenge isn’t it? The name makes it sound like I’m doing some ginormous poop that is worthy of having the entire month dedicated to it! I can assure you that that’s not the case though. My bodily functions are working quite well, enough that I have regular sized, non month naming worthy craps. I know you’re relieved, or rather, more interested in knowing what the August Dump is all about.
This month my friend, Jo, and I have challenged ourselves to throw out something every day.
The reason being that where I live at the moment we don’t have much space, and there is so much around here that I know we don’t need. And frankly, I’m always so busy that it’s hard to find the time to sit down and really go through it all. Yet one item a day doesn’t sound daunting to me at all, so I think I can manage that. It has to be credible items too; no throwing out a piece of paper and considering it done. The aim is to declutter my place, thus there needs to be an effort made every day.
To keep my motivation up I’m going to blog the things that I find around the house and share them with you (purely because I think there’ll be some interesting things to be found). The first dump item:
This thing was created back in the age of video tapes. The only way it works is when it’s plugged into the power at the wall – the batteries are totally screwed, which totally defeats the point of a portable video camera, right? There’s no point even donating it to anyone, the amount it would cost to fix it up you could buy an entry level video camera. It’s been sitting in our drawer for years now, and I’ve never done anything about it. Thus, it’s out. First thing to be tossed, and good riddance! That’s more room in a drawer for me, woohoo!
Stay tuned for more August Dump deposits (yep, another poo joke for good measure).
