Last Wednesday was a shocker of a day for me. I woke up fine, and was in a great mood during the day, but I literally couldn’t remember a single thing to save myself!
When I left in the morning I took my gear for my physio appointment at 11am and my swimming bag as I planned on swimming a few laps in the pool after work. I thought I was set. I got to work, and kept reminding myself that I couldn’t forget my physio appointment.
Just after 10am I received a phone call from the physio, except that I thought it was my chiro (yeah, yeah, I see too many health workers…whatever). She asked if I was coming in for my appointment that morning, and getting confused, I wondered why I would have booked a chiro appointment on the same day as my physio appointment. I said no, that I wasn’t coming in, and got a warning that next time I would have to pay a full appointment fee for missing the session. I said sorry, and we hung up. Then it finally clicked that it was my physio! I checked the calendar on my phone (which still said that my appointment was at 11) and my text messages (my physio centre sends reminders a day before each appointment). My suspicion was confirmed – I had gotten the time completely wrong. Crap! I rang back, but unfortunately the next appointment was due in 15mins, so there wasn’t enough time for me to come down. There also weren’t any spots available for the rest of the day, so we rebooked for the following day.
A few hours later I was thinking about my lifesaver training that I had to do later that night, when I realised I’d completely forgotten to bring my text book with me (the text book that we use religiously every session). I decided I would have to go home and get it.At the same time, I decided that since I didn’t have a physio appointment I would book a chiro appointment, as my neck had been sore for a few days and I had a major knot in my shoulder. The appointment was booked for later that day. At lunch, I ducked home and got my text book and returned to work. Later on I had my chiro session, and felt much better for it.
Then trouble struck again.
