52 in 52: Swim 500m continuously

I have been visiting the swimming pool a lot recently in a bid to swim 400m in under 9 minutes. I can hear Ian Thorpe laughing at me, but whatever buddy. At least people aren’t suspicious about my sexuality!

Ahem.

The reason for the frequent visits is that I’m trying to complete my Bronze Medallion in order to qualify for volunteer lifesaving, and swimming the 400m in less than 9mins is a required component. By sheer coincidence, I also listed the desire to swim 500m continuously on my 52 things in 52 weeks challenge.

I also decided I would swim 500m and knock this one off the list, especially since I wasn’t going to be pushing any land speed records.

On a side note though, I will have to visit the pool again tomorrow, and every day this week for the remainder of the week, since I need to be under that 9min time by the weekend. I’m getting timed on Sunday, and I don’t want to fail. Wish me luck!

But back to my 52 in 52 challenge.
