The electric blanket is ON

Well it’s on, but not on, if you know what I mean. If it’s not on it’s not on! Oops, that’s about something else entirely, isn’t it? My bad!

The blanket is on the bed, but I just haven’t switched it on yet.

Tonight I was inspired by my numb feet to finally put the electric blanket on my bed. I’d been threatening to for a few weeks now, but I’d generally found that after a few seconds in bed I would warm up. Tonight, no matter what I do my feet just won’t warm up so as a last resort I’m going to give them a good dose of artificial heat. Nothing better than jumping into a pre-warmed bed is there? I have to switch it off as soon as I climb in though, otherwise I’ll overheat.

I’ve always had problems with colder temperatures; I’m very much a summer baby. When I was a child I used to sit in front of the fan heater in the bathroom and read a book. I could do that for hours at a time, and it used to drive my mum insane. It’s probably no wonder that I used to have dry skin a lot during winter, and extreme amounts of static electricity from the friction generated by the combination of dry skin and clothing. I could almost zap anything on command.

Or maybe I was just a superhero. That would have been awesome.

I just know that right now I have numb feet and if they don’t warm up soon I’m going to show them who’s boss by sticking them in the shower and letting them defrost rapidly under scorching heat.

Oh yeah, my feet are totally afraid now.
