TAFE update – 3 weeks on.
Unfortunately due to time limits I have been unable to write about each lesson in detail, as previously planned. Thus I’ve done a little “overview” as such of what’s been going on in my justice course.
1 – Friends
I am now in a gang of 5 on tuesday nights, and 4 on wednesdays. the 5 on tuesdays will be upped to 6 soon when mr. quiet shows up – he’s on of the wednesday crew.
Tuesdays:
mr. stationery - one my friends before i did tafe, mr. stationery works for the provider of stationery for my workplace, but we became friends originally through my boyfriend and the fact that they’re both car enthusiasts.
mr policeman - he is just so obviously going to be a copper. he was already in the army, don’t know why he’s not anymore, but he’s just built for it. and from what i can tell, he’s a very just man, and very intelligent!! but still very funny.
mr. gorgeous - at first i thought mr gorgeous was just god’s gift, but now i’m not too sure. although he’s very intelligent, and very nice, i think there’s just something underlying that makes me cautious. i’m sure i’ll figure it out one day. he’s incredibly good looking. i think he might be one who argues his point until he FINALLY realises he’s wrong, and for all those who know me, i can be the same, so maybe there’s just a conflict of personalities there? but we get along like a house on fire.
mr. hilarious - possibly my favourite person in the class. he’s a gentleman, he’s funny, he’s nice, he’s smart, he is a hard worker (labour intensive employment) and most importantly, not afraid to smell lipgloss!!!
if you’re wondering why i’m only profiling 4 people when there’s a gang of 5 on tuesday nights, now you know why you failed maths. i’m the 5th person dummy!!
wednesdays:
all of the above, but subtract mr. stationery and mr. policeman, and add on mr. silence.
mr. silence is not like his name, he does talk, and when he does he’s not shy of holding a conversation. he’s actually quite good with a conversation, and was VERY helpful in my cordial issue (yet to be documented – basically i bought a bottle of cordial from woolies that was a year old, and when i took it back had a fight with the store manager and walked out with a replacement, a refund, and $30 worth of store vouchers).
So that really covers it for friends….
2 – Associates:
Have sort of been incorporated into the snob gang once or twice. one night i was early to class so i sat by myself, and the gang decided they wanted to be back seat rebels but i didn’t, so i sat in the middle of the lecture theatre by myself (VERY cool! haha). being my luck that night we were asked to form groups of four, so the gang went together, and snob gang, being of only 3 members looked around and lo-and-behold there’s a single girl sitting by herself, and i was pulled in. i was introduced to them, and now i’ll give you a rundown on them too.
Snob 1 - for those who read the last post, i was already aquainted with week 1 thanks to matron’s efforts of introducing me to her. Snob 1 is blond haired, horse rider, typical “best friends club” sorta gal, the one that you would NEVER expect to be in trouble, thus i guess makes her perfect to be doing a justice course. she’ll always be on the right side of the law. snob 1 and i were together in the line up to mark our assignments together and we compared notes, she wasn’t too bad to talk to then, but i still take great glee in that in that i was helping her – i had completed everything.
snob 2 - slightly tubby, but who am i to talk since i’m the exact same? there are a few problems with snob 2 in that she NEVER smiles, and wears clothes that are a bit too small for her and lets it all hangs out, e.g. singlets that are above her belly button. she actually dresses quite nicely, if only it all fit properly. but her clothes are really good!! oh, and i’ve never once hear her say a word.
snob 3 - possibly the nicest of the snobs. she dresses more like someone who is alternative, and listens to the the vines…she looks very approachable, until she actually looks at you. she has a continual look of disinterest in her, and if she told me that she had an addiction to marijuana and smoked all day long, i wouldn’t be surprised (she’s only missing the bloodshot eyes). however, i do have things in common with snob 3 in that she is friends with one of the girls that i play netball with (one of my favourite netballers actually).
mrs. baby - obvious nickname in that she is pregnant. was going to call her mrs. preggas, but figured that after the birth, she wouldn’t be pregnant anymore. was paired up with her in my first class for justice 403. very intelligent. very nice. no other observations to record, but she does call me “hun”. hahah
3 – Assessments
Currently have 2 assessments ongoing, 1 completed.
1: Prepare Court Documents – completed – 100%
2: Forget the course title, but I’m comparing Aboriginal Traditional Law, Australian law, and Islam law – assignment ongoing, due in about 2 weeks.
3: Finalise court proceedings – definately my most favourite assignment every. Have been given 6 scenarios, and based on the heirarchy of sentencing, have to award each “offender” a punishment, and justify it. Will be approximately 2 pages long.
The funniest thing so far in my class? mr. hilarious and i were deciding that they should all get the death penalty, and we kidding that it will fix the population boom and create a sustainable environment. For any reader out there (that’s right, all 1 of you) please don’t take me seriously about this – i’m joking. we’ll soon have killed everyone!
That’s really it for my update I guess? I dunno…anyway, I promise to document all my classes from now on. Although I do have a few blogs upcoming in mind – “the cordial incident” and my fascination with pens. yeah i’m a freak!
