Yesterday Pauline had her birthday and to celebrate we headed up to Mt Coot-tha to have lunch at The Summit restaurant. It’s not a cheap eat but they have a lunch special where you get a small main meal and dessert for $25.90 and we certainly didn’t leave hungry. We sat outside on the corner and had a wonderful panoramic view of the city of Brisbane, made clearer thanks to the rain we’d had the day before.

Pauline asked her usual wine questions and was rewarded with a full glass of wine and a small taster that she preferred. I ordered the pear gorgonzola salad and Pauline had the chilli linguine. For once her meal was better than mine – in fact it was incredible! For dessert she had the ice cream filled Brandy snap basket which  we came here for while I had a chocolate chip basket with coffee ice cream swimming in a sea of chocolate. Wickedly brilliant but I was unable to finish it. I must be becoming lax in my blogging skills because I forgot to take pictures of the food! They have sunday buffet lunches there so I suspect we will do that one day soon. It was so great riding up the mountain on our scoots. Afterwards we stopped in at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens where I practised my photography in preparation for the tafe course I’m enrolled in next weekend. Here are some of my favourites that I uploaded to flickr:

Thankyou Amy for helping to make my birthday great! I had the best time on our little outing and opening my special present.
